System 10是在2000 年基于索尼PlayStation硬件的发布南梦宫街机系统主板。一些游戏主板具有额外支持31KHz高解输出。当时的南梦宫同样面临必须变革的艰难处境,一方面在街机市场受到了世嘉的强烈冲击,原本的传统优势项目纷纷不再;另一方面在家用机市场之前和任天堂闹翻,在SFC时代远没有当年的辉煌成果,可以说90年代初的南梦宫完全就是在夹缝中生存,努力延续自己的招牌,也就是在这样近似孤注一掷的情况下,南梦宫决定再次去把希望赌在3D革命,或者说,赌在索尼的Playstation身上。
$ G+ Q3 V [/ Z6 \0 C7 c在1993年,南梦宫和索尼开始接触,最终达成协议,Namco帮助索尼开发全新的32位游戏机,在至关重要的3D技术上提供支持,同时利用自己多年的人脉资源为索尼争取大量第三方软件支持。而Namco从索尼手里得到的是在FC时代任天堂同样给予的权利金最优惠待遇,以及允许南梦宫自行开发与PS互换的街机基板,保证以后的作品能移植主机版。
